In addition, fluorescent fluid additives can be used to detect leaks in fluid-carrying lines, for example in automotive or domestic installations.

Five key performance parameters determine the manufacturing effort here: radiant power, radiation cone, range, radiation wavelength and LED quality. The stronger the radiation power, the wider the radiation cone of the UV light, the higher the illumination range, the more specific and precise the radiation wavelength and the higher the quality of the LEDs, the more cost-intensive the production of the devices.
The maximum radiation intensity of our professional UV-A handheld lamps is 365 nm, which is the optimal excitation wavelength for many common fluorescent fluid additives for leak detection or powders for materials testing.
