Drying silos after cleaning

Dehumidifying storage containers quickly and safely

Before a different type of bulk material can be stored in the same silo (or another storage or transport container) it is cleaned with water. To be able to reuse these containers as soon as possible, we recommend the application of adsorption dryers of the TTR series.

After the cleaning of storage containers and silos you have to count on them to be fully dried for new bulk material to be protected against moisture from the beginning. And since drying can be effected in a quick and economical manner, we advise decision makers from the chemical and pharmaceutical industry to consider our high-performance dryers of the TTR series.

Adsorption dryer TTR 1400 dries every silo

With their two separate air flow ducts (TTR Trisorp Dual principle of operation) all adsorption dryers of this series are characterized by a particularly simple adjustability. Furthermore, with the internal heat recovery as well as the high level of resilience and performance of the special rotors they rank among the most economical adsorption dryers of their kind. The TTR series comprises both stationary and mobile adsorption dryers. Particularly a mobile version of the TTR 1400 with transport frame is optimally suited for the dehumidification of silos in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. This powerful adsorption dryer impresses with a dehumidification performance of approx. 177 kg in 24 hours at 20 °C and a relative humidity of 60 per cent. It dehumidifies an air volume of up to 1,800 m³/h. It is also available as stainless steel version.

Fan hoses and measurement technology to complement the system

To match this high-performance adsorption dryer, the air transport hoses should also be designed for full-scale industrial usage. Trust the brand quality of high-class, spiral-reinforced fan hoses of the Tronect® series.
Several hand-held measuring devices such as thermohygrometers and data loggers like the innovative DL200X complete the dehumidification concept in the silo and so enable constant monitoring of the drying process.

Make use of our best practice industrial services

Make use of Trotec's best practice industrial services

Since every industrial undertaking has characteristic process flows, installations and facilities, every air treatment solution demands case-specific device configurations. All in all, the combined effects of air currents, humidity conditions and temperature fluctuations are often hard to calculate on a purely theoretical basis, e.g. in airlock areas or on conveying paths. The consequence: Unnecessary additional costs due to an overestimated demand or – even worse – solutions not working sufficiently in real life.

You can count on our experts

In order to precisely calculate the demand in the industry and to develop tailor-made concepts for climate conditioning experienced climate specialists are needed. Rely on our team of experts as well as the industrial services: We analyse the individual requirement situation with you present on site, determine the specific demand for devices and develop a tailor-made project solution right up to the exact positioning of the devices.

Just give us a call at +49 2452 962-777 – our industry consultants will be pleased to help you personally and provide information regarding our best practice industrial services. Or send a request indicating your personal requirements directly to our industry experts. We will answer promptly!

Upon request, we also produce customized desiccant dehumidifiers as special models

Upon request, we will readily produce tailor-made desiccant dehumidifiers as special models “made in Germany” perfectly geared to your needs, e.g.:

Further application examples for air dehumidification

  • Environmental simulation climate chamber

In climatic chambers and wind tunnels three factors need to be simulated at the best possible rate: air temperature, wind strength and humidity. For the latter, the automotive industry needs dehumidifiers, which also perform well at dew points below 0°C, as well as high-performance desiccant dehumidifiers.

  • Drying hygroscopic bulk material

Varying and too high humidity values can ruin the pourability of powders and granules – and thus entail high consequential costs. In order for hygroscopic bulk material not to go lumpy nor to block hauling paths, the entire air in the chemical and pharmaceutical production must be pre-dried. Using adsorption dryers of the TTR series that's no problem.

Who turns his back on proper air conditioning for production and storage facilities risks serious damage to the product. This is also true for the manufacturing of pellets. • Dehumidification in hotels

A suitable room climate is a prerequisite for the well-being of hotel guests. If the air in the room is too warm or humid, it appears to be stale and muggy. Often damages appear at the building structure and interior within a short period of time. Wallpaper will be dotted with mould stains, curtains and clothes as well as linen become damp and musty and – if it comes to the worst – mildew runs...

  • Dehumidification in indoor ice-skating rinks

Due to the difference in temperature between air and the icy surface, condensation inevitably forms in every ice rink – especially when humid air keeps flowing in from outside through the refrigeration system. The solution against dripping water on the ice and against damage to property constitutes a dehumidifier. It prevents condensation in the offing.
